At Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie

The Terralha Festival is the ultimate, unmissable artistic event in the Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard destination.Whether you are new to this scene, already passionate or even a professional, you won’t be disappointed!

TERRALHA, EUROPEAN CERAMIC ART FESTIVAL

In July, discover Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie the capital of ceramics! The Terralha Festival is held every year in this internationally renowned potter’s village, and has been organised by the Cultural Office since 1984.

This traditional potter’s village will once again be celebrating Europe, clay and fire with a visitor’s tour on the theme of ceramics.

What’s the aim of the festival? To introduce the art of the terralha (the Occitan word meaning ‘earthenware vessel’) to ceramics enthusiasts and the general public alike!

The festival will be focused more specifically on European ceramics. The goal is to ‘bring together the different forms of artistic and cultural expression in Europe on the theme of ceramics’.

COME AND MEET THE ARTISTS

It brings together around twenty carefully selected European artists who exhibit their work in the village’s narrow streets, courtyards and gardens.

If you would like to come and meet them, don’t hesitate to venture inside these shaded courtyards or venues with vaulted ceilings and find out all about this original world of ceramics. You can therefore come and admire their creations and chat with them to gain a better understanding of their techniques and expert know-how.

Visitors can expect a superb artistic experience at this festival, which over the years, has become an unmissable event in European ceramic art!

But the Terralha doesn’t stop there! Throughout the festival, there are also practical workshops and introductions to pottery, artistic performances, film showings, exhibitions at the Musée de la Poterie Méditerranéenne and the Galerie Terra Viva, and chances to meet the artists.

An action-packed programme of events and entertainment to find out all there is to know about ceramic art.
