A major cycling competition, the Tour de France is a sporting event awaited each year by millions of French people. In 2019, the Destination Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard was lucky enough to host the Roman Loop over two days, with a new start at the foot of the fascinating Pont du Gard. This year again, we are proud to welcome the riders for the 12th stage of the famous race on Thursday 8 July 2021.
8 VILLAGES OF THE PAYS D’UZES PONT DU GARD DESTINATION CROSSED
After a long journey through the Gorges de l’Ardèche, the riders of the Tour de France will head for Nîmes on Thursday 8 July. On this 159.4 km route, 8 villages of the Destination Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard will be crossed: Lussan, Vallérargues, Baron, Foissac, Serviers, Montaren, Uzès and finally the surroundings of Blauzac.
Another attraction of the Tour de France is the famous caravan that precedes the peloton along the same route as the riders. The caravan will pass by for about 2 hours with the cyclists. Around 150 vehicles will distribute all kinds of goodies for the delight of young and old alike !
