The Solan Monastery is home to a female Orthodox Christian community. The sisters sell products, grown on their own land, using organic farming practices (wine, vinegar, preserved foods, jams, fruit jellies) as well as books and religious icons.
Seventeen nuns live, work and pray here. Religious services follow the rites of the Byzantine faith. The nuns grow organic produce under the guidance of Pierre Rabhi and the principles of creation.
They transform the harvest themselves and sell their produce (wine, jam fruit jellies, etc.) as well as books and icons.
