We’re not going to hide it, we are definitely lucky! Mother Nature has been kind to us and given us a rich and varied land. Why not come and treat yourselves?

Treat your taste buds!

The Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard destination is very lucky to benefit from exceptional conditions and a generous land. The sun exposure and quality of soil, combined with the expertise of our local producers, guarantee you’re in for some superb discoveries that will really take your senses on a journey.

Wine, Truffles and olives: the symbols of our land

From the green and crunchy picholine olives, to the strong scents of the black truffles in winter, not-to-mention the thousand-year-old winemaking tradition, your stay in the Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard destination will be a festival for your taste buds.

The “picholine” olive is a deep green colour, with the perfect crunch and a unique taste. It is ideal as an early evening snack, as a fruity oil or to accompany various dishes. Its superb quality is confirmed by the PDO “olives and olive oils of Nîmes” and a celebration is held in its name every year in the spring.

The black truffle from Pays d’Uzès and Pont du Gard “Tuber Melanosporum”, can be enjoyed all year round and it is celebrated in January, for the Week-end de la Truffe.

Our vines stretch as far as the eye can see. Our wines are made from the most famous Mediterranean grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Roussanne, etc. Some fantastic wines have been created on our hillsides, including the PDO Duché d’Uzès, the PGI Côteaux du Pont du Gard, and the PDO Côtes du Rhône.

According to Racine, the Duché d’Uzès is the “best in the Kingdom”.

Le Gard, Militant du Goût

What is the “Le Gard, Militant du Goût” scheme all about? It was started in 2002, with the goal of showcasing local gourmet heritage of the Gard, while respecting the following top priorities:

  • Local economy and short circuits;
  • Top-quality local products;
  • Respect for the environment.

In October 2020, for the annual “Le Gard, Militant du Goût” contest, 112 medals were awarded to 71 companies, to congratulate them for their top-quality products.
