Autour du Pont du Gard

Nice family hike through the woods to discover the ancient remains of the Roman Aqueduct up to the Pont du Gard. This walk plunges you into the scrubland, the olive groves, the dry stone walls, the forests of green oaks...

From the parking lot of the Place de la Madone in Remoulins:
Go up the street to pass near the Tourist Office (Place des grands jours) and cross the new bridge of Remoulins.

At the traffic circle turn right and pass near the building of the community of communes.

At the signpost "Combe Pradier" turn left and take the direction "le sablas" for 2.5km (sportive climb)

At the signpost "le sablas" continue straight on the GR6 (red and white markings) for 500m.

At the signpost "Valmale" turn right and continue on the GR6 (red and white markings) for 1.5km.
You will find the remains of the Aqueduct on your way and will arrive on a superb panorama of the Pont du Gard.
Go down the path to reach the monument.

For the return: Right bank, take on the right "Pont du Gard" on 500m.
Pass near the ticket office and join the path on the right at the sign "Combe de Roussière".

Then join the path along the road that leads back to the village of Remoulins on 2.5km.
